FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -
Campus Police confirmed a terrorist threat was made to the University of North Alabama math department Friday.
Crime logs indicated an investigation began September 28 around 2:30 p.m.
According to police, a bullet was found in an envelope in the math building. In August, the department received a death threat.
Officials said the handwriting on the death threat and on the bullet matched.
Police said they have a few suspects at this time but have not released any further details.
Chief Bob Pastula said they've increased officer presence in math building; professors are locking their doors and students are asked to report anything out of the ordinary.
Pastula said they are working closely with the FBI and the postal service to identify the sender.
