Kitchen Cops; 6 low performers

The Marshall County Health Department handed the New China Restaurant in Guntersville a 73.

The health inspector reported chicken in the cooler at 56 degrees, above the maximum of 41 degrees required to prevent bacterial growth in cold-holding foods. Bacteria can also emerge if cooked food isn't cooled fast enough, and the inspector reported some noodles did not cool within the required time limit.. The inspector also took off points for employees drinking in the kitchen.

The Garden of China in Boaz scored a 74. The inspector reported noodles and rice held below the minimum required hot-holding temperature. They also reported there was no measurable chlorine in the dish machine and that there was damaged food equipment.

Somewhere on the Lake in Guntersville scored a 76. The inspector reported dirty soda nozzle holsters and a dirty ice machine. The inspector also discovered cream sauce held too warm, gravy held too cold and potentially hazardous foods stored with no indication of when they were prepared.

The Sandwich Host Restaurant in Albertville scored an 83. The inspector docked them for gravy held too cold and employee drinks in the kitchen.

Milner's Dairy Delight in Arab scored a 77. The inspector reported a dirty ice bin and a dirty can opener.

Martin's Market in Arab scored a 69. The inspector reported cold-holding food held too warm.
