Lions Fifth at AFLAC/COUGAR Invitational

LIONS FIFTH AFTER FIRST ROUND AT AFLAC/COUGAR INVITATIONAL

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Battling through damp conditions and an almost two hour rain delay, the University of North Alabama golf team stands fifth after the first round of the 2012 AFLAC/Cougar Invitational. Florida Southern seized the early lead in the 16-team field with a two-over-par 286 total. North Alabama is 11 strokes back at 297.

 

The teams were able to begin the second round but were stopped by darkness. They will complete the remainder of round two and then round three on Tuesday. 

 

Paul McClure led UNA on Monday with a round of 69 that has time tied for second overall. Mason Rogers is tied for 23rd at 75, while Blaise Wilson is tied for 36th at 76 and Ricky Stimets and Trent Alexander tied for 50th at 77.
