ALBERTVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A mobile home business break-in led to a high speed chase that ended in a crash.
The chase started in Albertville when police got an alarm call.
Albertville Police responded to the alarm call at Clayton Homes on Highway 431 Saturday evening around 9 p.m.
Assistant Chief Jamie Smith said there has been a series of thefts from the business.
He said the thefts include furnishings taken from inside the new homes.
But on Saturday night, Smith said an officer pulled up and saw a vehicle leaving the scene.
The car then sped away before crashing in nearby Guntersville.
"It was high speed. I would say it was probably for seven or eight miles, several minutes, before he finally lost control," said Smith.
48-year-old Billie Joe Seals was taken into custody and is now facing burglary and theft charges.
Smith said Seals must go before a judge before bond will be set.
