Athens Police see record turnout at drug take back

ATHENS, AL (WAFF) -

The Athens Police Department held a drug take back day for the National Drug Take Back Initiative.

The event kicked off at 10 a.m. at the Athens Police Department.

Officials were collecting unused and expired prescription medication to safely dispose of it.

Officials said it was the biggest turnout they had ever had.

Huntsville Police will host a drug take back on October 13 at the Huntsville JC Center.
