HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Developers announced they will be expanding Bridge Street Town Centre with a new department store.
Thursday, the Huntsville City Council approved a $4-million incentive package to help pay for the expansion.
A new restaurant will also move into the development, but officials have not announced which restaurant that will be.
The project will call for the lake on the west end of the property to be filled in to make way for the new additions. A two-story parking deck will also be added to the property, along with 45,000 square feet of additional retail space.
"We are thrilled to be working with the city of Huntsville to enhance Bridge Street Town Centre, said John Neutzling of Bridge Street. "This expansion will further solidify Bridge Street as the super regional shopping destination of Northern Alabama for years to come. We look forward to having Belk, a high quality traditional department store, added to our tenant mix."
