HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Meridian Street in Huntsville will reopen Thursday after more than a year and a half of construction.
Crews shut down the road between Pratt and Oakwood for a widening project.
The work was supposed to be done this spring, but crews ran into problems with sewer and phone lines, forcing the project to fall behind more than six months.
Mayor Tommy Battle will officially reopen the street at 11 a.m.
