FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

UNA officials gave the "all-clear" after an outbreak of fleas forced students and staff out of some classrooms.

Faculty found the pests in August while moving furniture in the math building.

Campus officials said an exterminator was called in and the building shut down for 48 hours.

After receiving another flea report on Monday, campus officials said they re-examined the building and did not see any.

"I was kind of paranoid at first trying to make sure. I'd look over, make sure nothing was on me. I was kind of paranoid when I first hear about it," said UNA student, Marissa Minor.

Campus officials said classes have resumed as normal.
