TUSCALOOSA, AL (AP) -
Average isn't good enough for Alabama coach Nick Saban even when it might suffice to win a game.
The top-ranked Crimson Tide
hosts 50-point underdog Florida Atlantic Saturday. Saban says he
emphasizes with the players to "demand more of themselves" in order to
improve.
The biggest question might
be if the Tide can pitch its third straight shutout for the first time
since Bear Bryant's unbeaten 1966 team.
Florida Atlantic coach Carl
Pelini is in his first year trying to resuscitate a program that went
1-11 last season. By comparison, Alabama has only lost six games in the
past four seasons combined.
Pelini says he think Saban is adept at avoiding mood swings with his teams.
The Owls are coming off a 56-20 loss at No. 5 Georgia.
