SHEFFIELD, AL (WAFF) -
A registered sex offender is behind bars after police said
he tried to solicit sex.
Cecil Ellsworth was arrested Thursday after multiple
complaints from neighbors in a Sheffield neighborhood. An investigation began,
and officers discovered he approached a woman twice and offered her money for
sex.
Ellsworth was convicted in California on two counts of
unlawful sex with a minor in 1979.
Ellsworth was arrested and charged with soliciting
prostitution. His bond was set at $1000.
