Huntsville native to pilot Endeavour's last flight

MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

Space Shuttle Endeavour will take off on its final flight Wednesday.

NASA workers backed the shuttle and it mounted atop a 747, at the Kennedy Space Center.

The shuttle carrier aircraft, will ferry Endeavour to California at sunrise.

The 747 will be flown by Huntsville native Jeff Moultrie. His mother lives in Madison and she said she couldn't by anymore more proud.

"I feel very humbled and thankful, and proud. That he has the skills. God gave him those skills to fly," said Colleen Moultrie, pilots' mother.

Endeavour will be brought to Los Angeles International Airport and will spend a few weeks there undergoing renovations.

It will head to the California Science Center where it will be permanently retired.
