HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville Police said they will not charge the shooter from a September 9 shooting.

Four people were involved in a shooting on Wellman Avenue.

29-year-old Stephen McCary and 22-year-old Talor McGill were taken to Huntsville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police took a suspect into custody but later released him. Officials said the shooter fired in self defense.

The case has been closed and turned over to the Madison County District Attorney for review.
