HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Huntsville Police have investigated three different rape allegations in three days. They have not arrested anyone, but they don't believe the crimes are connected.
The latest incident happened Sunday night on Seminole Drive, just north of Governor's Drive. The community was rocked when they heard the allegations.
Several women said they're scared to live in the community but can't move away for financial reasons.
"It's very frightening," said one mother. "People have kids out here and people do things like that and it's not right."
The woman's friend said she's waiting for it to happen again.
"There's no telling what's going to happen out here," she said.
On Saturday morning, police investigated an alleged rape off University Drive.
On Sunday evening, a woman called Huntsville Police to report she'd been raped at the 100 block of Jeff Road.
Huntsville Police reported 97 rapes in 2011. Of those cases, 46 were unfounded and 51 were investigated further.
Huntsville Police have solved nearly 66 percent of those cases to date.
Huntsville Police spokesperson Dr. Harry Hobbs is asking the community to use common sense to avoid being a potential victim.
"Just be careful where you walk at night, make sure you stay in well lit areas, and don't be alone," said Hobbs.
