DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
A 22-year-old was charged with rape after he allegedly met up with a girl he met on Facebook and took her to a motel for sex.
Decatur Police said James Overton of Hartselle turned himself into police Thursday on separate misdemeanor charges. Officers questioned Overton about the rape.
Reports stated Overton drove to a Decatur home and met up with a 14-year-old girl he met online. The two drove to the Parkway Inn and Suites where Overton had rented a room. He invited the girl in and they had sex.
Overton was charged with rape second degree and enticing a minor. He will be transferred to Morgan County Jail on $7,500 bond.
