HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A Limestone County infant is recovering after a near drowning at her home this week.
The girl was saved by two women who knew exactly how to respond to such an emergency.
There are several resources available that offer to teach anyone these lifesaving skills.
Huntsville Hospital offers a four part parenting class at it's Women's & Children's facility. The class costs $75 and will instruct new parents basic techniques for swaddling, breastfeeding, bathing and diapering. It also gets into more advanced subjects like SIDS prevention, CPR and how to save a choking child. Huntsville Hospital also offers a less intense course for babysitters. It costs $65.
The Red Cross offers several different courses with different lifesaving techniques. Everything from basic first aid, to CPR, to long term elder care and even pet health is covered. The courses cost between $90-$110.
