COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
A Florence man is behind bars, charged with storing drugs in an abandoned car with intent to sell them.
Officials said they received a tip that a car on River Road near Muscle Shoals was being used to store drugs intended for sale.
Drug agents located the car with the drugs inside. They set up surveillance of the vehicle and saw 24-year-old Demarcus Barnett go to the vehicle and get drugs.
Barnett was arrested Wednesday and charged with trafficking marijuana and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.
Officials confiscated two pounds of marijuana, 21 grams of cocaine, scales and $4,500 in cash. Agents said the drugs had a street value of around $6,000.
Barnett was recently out of jail for drug possession and is being held in the Colbert County Jail without bond.
