MUSCLE SHOALS, AL (WAFF) -
The city of Muscle Shoals is gearing up to host a national golf tournament in October.
The 2nd Annual U.S. Couples' Golf Championship will be held at Cypress Lake.
The tournament, which promotes family golf, will bring in hundreds of people from all over the country. Officials say it will be a weekend of golf and fellowship.
Event organizers hope to make Muscle Shoals the permanent home for the tournament.
"For the city, it means a lot because it's our opportunity to kind of show off the newest asset we have, obviously generating revenues not only for the city but tax wise, restaurant wise, hotel wise and other things of that nature," said Scott Arndt, general manager of Cypress Lakes.
The tournament will bring in hundreds of people from all over the country.
