Over the Labor Day weekend, Huntsville Police made 16 arrests at DUI checkpoints.
On Friday, officers conducted a checkpoint at Memorial Parkway and Martin Road. Three people were arrested for DUI. Police also made three misdemeanor arrests and one felony arrest. 135 drivers were issued citations, one vehicle was impounded and one truck was inspected.
Saturday, Huntsville Police set up a checkpoint at Bob Wallace Avenue and Jordan Lane. At that location, seven people were arrested for DUI and two suspects were arrested on misdemeanor charges.
Officers issued 132 citations during Saturday's operation and impounded four vehicles.
