GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Volunteers at St. William Catholic Church are wrapping up making approximately 600 gallons of seafood gumbo.
This marks the 42nd year for its annual fundraiser, The St. William's Seafood Festival.
They'll also have about 1600 pounds of boiled shrimp, as well as chicken and catfish.
Organizers said the gumbo will be distributed by the quart this Friday and Saturday at Civitan Park.
"The drive-thru will open at 7:30 that morning and go until we're sold out. But we also have a drive thru Friday evening August 31st from 5 to 7 only," said festival chairperson, Sandy Whitaker.
People can dine in Saturday morning at the park starting at 10:30.
Money raised goes to the church and other charitable organizations.
