Hearing date set for mass murderer

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A status conference is scheduled for admitted killer Jacob Shaffer. Shaffer pleaded guilty to killing five people in Lincoln County, Tennessee. He's also charged with murder in Madison County.

Shaffer attacked his wife and four other people in 2009 near Fayetteville. Huntsville Police Investigators say his rampage also included Sidney Dempsey. Dempsey's body was found in a Huntsville business.

Shaffer has a status conference September 18th. His trial in Madison County is scheduled for October 29th.
