Murder suspect heading back to prison

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

The 20 year old man accused of killing a 68 year old woman in a wreck earlier this year will be heading back to prison.

Mitchell Lindsey was free on probation when police say he rammed into a car being driven by Bessie Lousie Yarbrough Stovall in May. Officers say Lindsey was being chased by police when the accident happened. He reportedly ran a stop sign at the intersection of Cedar Street and Spring Avenue when his vehicle hit Stovall's car. Police said her car flipped over and hit a utility pole. A toxicology report after the accident showed drugs present in his system at the time.

On Monday, Morgan County Circuit Judge Glenn Thompson approved a motion to send Lindsey back to state prison. He'd served over 800 days of the 10 year sentence when he was freed.
