MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
One person died in a two-vehicle accident in Morgan County.
Officials said an 18-wheeler going west on Highway 157 collided with an SUV going south on Danville Road around 9 p.m. Friday.
The two cars collided in the intersection. The 18-wheeler went across the median, landed across both lanes of eastbound traffic and caught fire.
The driver of the truck was able to get out with minor injuries. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Danville and Speake Volunteer Fire Department had to use the jaws of life to get the driver of the SUV, 56-year-old Cynthia Raley, out of the vehicle. She died at the scene.
The truck driver received only minor injuries.
