Robbery accomplice charged with murder

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A Huntsville man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of his robbery accomplice.

Police say 34-year-old Courtneay Nance and Rodney Pride attempted to rob Atlantis Corner on Old Monrovia Road on May 31st.

When the men entered, the clerk at the convenience store shot Pride. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

Under Alabama's murder statute, Nance's charges were upgraded from robbery to murder. The clerk was not charged in the incident.

Nance is being held in the Madison County Jail on $200,000 bond.
