HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
The Madison police officer accused of sexual abuse was released from Huntsville Hospital Tuesday morning and placed under arrest.
Officer William "Bill" Watson is on administrative leave amid allegations of sex abuse against a girl younger than 16 years old.
Authorities have not revealed a specific number of alleged victims, but they do anticipate more charges against Watson, who was in Huntsville Hospital for an undisclosed reason.
Limestone County deputies arrested Watson as soon as he was discharged from the hospital. He was released on a $50,000 bond Tuesday afternoon.
Watson has been an officer with the Madison Police Department for 13 years. He was once named Officer of the Year.
