Huntsville police arrested a man after they chased him down overnight.
Police say an officer pulled over a black sedan on Pulaski Pike around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday for a traffic violation. The officer thought he smelled drugs and the driver took off.

Stallworth-Lofton led them on a chase to I-565, then through the UAH campus to University Drive. They say he pulled into the Candlewood Apartments off Julia Street then left the car and took off on foot.
A passenger stayed behind in the car.
Police said they chased down Stallworth-Lofton and arrested him. He was charged with possession of marijuana second degree, possession of a controlled synthetic substance, possession of a controlled substance, attempting to elude police and resisting arrest.
