MADISON, AL (WAFF) -
A Madison man is hoping surveillance video will help locate his stolen trailer.
Jonathan Sturgis said his trailer was stolen at his residence in the Madison Park apartments Thursday night.
Sturgis went straight to apartment managers who gave him access to surveillance video that recorded cars leaving the gated complex.
The owner went through hours of video before spotting a pickup truck driving away with his trailer attached to it.
"I would love to get the trailer back of course, number one. I would love to get police involved, and thirdly I would like to get a hold of him myself. It makes me very angry. It's my trailer," Sturgis said.
The truck's tag numbers are not visible in the video but Sturgis hopes it will be enough for police to help him find it. He said the trailer is 7 feet wide and 16 feet long. It's valued between $800 and $1,000, according to Sturgis.
Sturgis filed a police report and posted flyers warning his neighborhood about the theft. He said an investigator will follow up on Monday.
