NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A Vanderbilt Medical Center doctor is on probation for drinking before surgery.
The state Department of Health recently placed vascular surgeon Colleen Brophy's license on probation for five years.
In July 2011, Brophy became ill during a surgery and another doctor had to complete the procedure.
According to state documents, a test revealed her blood alcohol content was just below the legal limit to drive a vehicle.
She later admitted to drinking to battle depression.
Brophy is currently receiving treatment and still on the Vanderbilt medical staff.
