HARTSELLE, AL (WAFF) -
Two people were arrested in Hartselle Friday after sheriff deputies found drugs and other substances in a home off Westwind Pvt Drive.
When officials arrived at the scene, they came in contact
with Michael Scott Brown and Geneva Melson. They discovered that the homeowner
and her brother, who were both in need of constant care, were living in the
home as well as well as a 2-year-old child.
Melson said she and Brown were their caregivers. She said
the child was not hers but had been living at the home for the past two weeks.
Agents searched the home and found drug paraphernalia, used
hypodermic syringes, marijuana and prescription pills.
Brown and Melson were taken to the Morgan County Jail and charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, second degree possession of marijuana, and child endangerment.
