The Carmike Cinemas off of Old Monrovia Road called police in as a precaution after multiple threats across the country.

No explosive devices were found at the Huntsville location, and the scene was cleared before noon.

Police also checked theatres in Decatur and Florence.

At least two dozen movie theaters in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia had activity from emergency responders starting around 11:30 a.m. ET.

According to WSFA, police said the threat originated at the corporate office, which is located in nearby Columbus, GA.
