LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Testimony is underway in a capital murder trial in Lauderdale County.
Tony Woods is accused of shooting and killing his ex-wife.
It took two and a half days to seat a jury.
The jury of 10 women and four men heard opening statements after lunch on Wednesday.
Both sides said domestic violence was not uncommon between Woods and his ex-wife, Tammie.
Prosecutors said Woods intentionally shot his ex-wife as she was in her car, leaving his home, charging him with capital murder.
But his attorneys said it was all in self defense.
Woods' attorneys showed several aerial photos from the crime scene, setting the scene for the jury to imagine what took place two years ago.
The prosecution called its first witness to the stand.
Testimony will continue first thing Thursday morning.
