MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
An Alabama chef who's competed on national TV was in Huntsville Wednesday to help promote Alabama's Restaurant Week.
Food Network star finalist Martie Duncan talked with customers at the Main Dish in Meridianville.
Main Dish was on an episode of "Restaurant Impossible" that aired in July on Food Network, so Duncan - a Birmingham native - decided to check in on them.
"So because they are part of the Food Network family and they are supporting Alabama Restaurant Week, I thought I had to come here see Ken, Lynn, the family and how they are doing. Chef Irvine wants me to report back. I couldn't be more excited to come here and try the food for myself. It looks so good when I saw it on TV," said Duncan.
Restaurant Week runs through the 26th of August.
Some 57 cities and 30 counties have restaurants that are participating.
Huntsville and Madison have the most with 40 restaurants.
