SAND VALLEY. AL (WAFF) -

A Boaz man is behind bars on burglary charges.

Officials said 19-year-old Caleb Heaxt and a juvenile broke into three churches in the Sand Valley community in Etowah County.

Computer monitors, printers, microphones and drums were reported stolen.

Investigators discovered that the stolen drums were sold to a local music store on August 9. An official with one of the churches sent a photo of Heaxt to the police on August 13.

Employees at a local pawn show alerted police when Heaxt and the juvenile came in to sell the remaining items.

The suspects were apprehended at a traffic stop outside of Sardis shortly after.

Heaxt admitted to two of the burglaries. He was arrested and charged with two counts of third degree burglary and one count of second degree theft. He was released from the Etowah County Detention Center on $7,500 bond.
