LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Get ready to cash in on some deals when it comes to local meals.
Starting this Friday, the state of Alabama will be participating in its first annual Restaurant Week. It's a week designed to highlight the best local restaurants have to offer at a price everyone can afford.
There are over 200 restaurants participating statewide, and 17 of them are in Lauderdale County alone.
"It is local businesses. It's about being an entrepreneur, having the entrepreneurial spirit in Alabama, and having visitors and residents support it and there are lots of great specials," said Debbie Wilson with Florence-Lauderdale Tourism. "So a lot of people locally if you've been thinking about going to a new restaurant and you're not motivated, the specials this week should get you out there."
Restaurant Weeks starts on Friday and runs through August 26.
