HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Strong to severe thunderstorms are moving across north Alabama and southern Tennessee. A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued until 8 p.m.
The primary threat will be wind gusts up to 60 mph, but the lightning will also be very intense with some of the storms this afternoon as well. Locally heavy rain could create street flooding and hazardous driving conditions.
Most of the storms will be gone by 5 p.m., but we could see additional development later this evening
