HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Friday, the Alabama Supreme Court issued a ruling denying an appeal for a man convicted of murder.
Samuel Miles shot and killed Linda Keller in south Huntsville in 2009. Miles broke into Keller's home, shot her, and called 911 to report the crime.
Miles pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. He was found mentally competent to stand trial. The jurors deliberated for about two hours before reaching a verdict.
Miles is serving his sentence of live without parole at Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer.
