SHEFFIELD, AL (WAFF) -
There are more claims of sexual abuse involving a former church leader in Sheffield.
Police said more people are coming forward, but they can't make an arrest.
Police Chief Greg Ray said the number of claims has gone up to 10.
However, he said even though the victims are sharing their stories, not one of them has given an official statement which would allow police to continue their investigation and bring the man accused in for questioning.
Just last week, leaders at the First United Methodist Church in Sheffield said they dismissed their minister of music.
Church leaders identify him as Oliver Brazelle.
The church conducted an internal investigation and reportedly discovered inappropriate behavior between Brazelle and three male victims.
Church leaders turned over their findings to police.
Ray said the allegations and claims they have received are not enough to bring the man at the center of the accusations in for questioning.
"We do not have anybody who has come forward and said that, 'Yes, I will raise my hand under oath and swear to these facts.' We have had numerous people come to us and said what has happened to them," said Ray. "These are people, once again, unsolicited - they have contacted us and have asked to speak with us."
At this time, police said they do not have a victim on record and no charges have been filed.
