ATHENS, AL (WAFF) -
Athens
Police arrested a convicted sex offender after he was found living within 1500 feet of two schools.
Officials
said the department was notified that Thomas Davis was living at the Mark Motel
on US 31. The motel is just 200 feet from Athens Bible School and 1300 feet
from Athens High School.
The law
requires sex offenders to live 2000 feet or more from a school.
Davis was
convicted of second degree sexual abuse in 2000.
He was arrested
and charged with prohibited residence.
