With a combined five pitchers and 11 walks, the Huntsville Stars no-hit the Chattanooga Lookouts by a final score of 3-1 in the rubbermatch of a five-game series. The pitchers on the night were Jimmy Nelson (4 IP), Dan Merklinger (0.2 IP), R.J Seidel (1.1 IP), Darren Byrd (2.0 IP), Brandon Kintzler (1.0 IP). The no-hitter was the first for the Stars since June 2nd, 2008 by David Welch. The Stars gave up their only run in the fourth inning on a bases-loaded walk. On offense, Huntsville got a three-run homer from Brock Kjeldgaard in the third inning. The win for their Stars marked their third consecutive series victory. They are now four games back of first place in the Southern League North with 30 games to play.
The Stars begin a five-game with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos starting on Friday. First pitch is at 6:43 at Joe Davis Stadium.
