BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -
Detectives with the Birmingham Police Department are investigating the homicide of an 80-year-old man found in his home on Monday.
North precinct officers went to a home in the 4000 block of F.L. Shuttlesworth Drive around 2:15 p.m. Monday on a report of a deceased person.
Police identified the victim as Aaron Carroll, 80, from Birmingham. Birmingham Fire and Rescue officials who responded to the scene pronounced him dead.
The case has been classified a homicide investigation "due to evidence uncovered at the scene," Sgt. Johnny Williams said.
Williams says police have a 35-year-old female in custody in connection to the case. So far, she has not been charged. There is no word yet on a possible motive.
