HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

So how long does it take for a thief to steal a wallet? Let's just say if you blink, it's gone.

One woman found out the hard way that the hand really is quicker than the eye at a local restaurant.

The crime took place at I Love Sushi on Cecil Ashburn Drive in Huntsville July 14.

A woman was sitting at the bar and placed her wallet on the seat beside her. A man came up and sat down in the seat next to the wallet.

While the victim was looking the other way, the thief quickly grabbed her wallet and headed out the door.

The woman didn't realize it had been stolen until several minutes later when she got up to leave.

If you know who the thief is, you can call 256-53-Crime with your anonymous tips, or you can go to waff.com, click on Crime Stoppers then the Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers link to see how to text or e-mail an anonymous tip.
