DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
A DeKalb County corrections officer, 21-year-old Lucas Nathaniel Yancey of Rainsville, was arrested Thursday night by State Troopers.
He was charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
Authorities said Thursday night around 1:30, Yancey was driving his 2007 Ford Range County Road 72 when he ran off the road and hit a woman's home.
He caused damage to her front porch and house.
Witnesses said he fled the scene and got into another person's vehicle. They saw several beer cans in the truck.
Yancey was brought back to the scene about 30 minutes later by law enforcement.
Yancey was taken to the hospital. He was treated and released Friday morning.
He did not suffer serious injuries.
He has been placed on administrative leave. He's due in district court in DeKalb County at 9 a.m. on August 22.
