ATHENS, AL (WAFF) -

TVA officials said they agree with the fire safety violation the Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued at Browns Ferry.

The TVA called a meeting with the NRC Thursday in Atlanta to explain what happened last January when a small electrical fire broke out.

The NRC found that plant workers were not well-trained on new fire-safety protocol and they may not have been able to safely shut down the plant.

TVA spokesman Ray Golden said they are working to fix the problem.

A fire protection program will be submitted to the NRC by next March.
