GRANT, AL (WAFF) -
Former Grant police officer Rodney Charles Van Etten claims
he was pushed out of the department.
In a law suit filed against the mayor and police chief, Van Etten said he worked with a former chief to video
tape alleged wrongdoings by then officer Roger Hornbuckle, which prompted Hornbuckle to resign in 2004.
But when he came back to the department, he claimed Chief Hornbuckle sought to have Van Etten and other officers removed.
Mayor Larry Walker said anyone has the right to sue and they
will deal with it in court.
