GERALDINE, AL (WAFF) -
A woman was seriously injured after she fell ten feet at High Falls in Geraldine.
Officials said the 42-year-old from Oklahoma fell from the falls into the water and was knocked unconscious.
Officials with Fischer Rescue Squad said the woman was attempting to walk up the side of a rock wall when she fell approximately ten feet to the ground on her head.
They believe she was knocked unconscious, but quickly regained consciousness when she fell further into the water. That's where others quickly moved to her aid.
Rescue teams were sent to the bottom of the waterfall where she was put into a bucket and air lifted to higher ground by a state helicopter to an awaiting ambulance.
Rescue personnel said she had some lacerations to her head and pain in her side and ankle.
