LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Five burglaries from 2010 have been solved thanks to
fingerprints left at the scene.
Investigators are seeking prosecution against Charles
Makekau III for five counts of burglary third degree, two counts of theft of
property first degree, two counts of theft of property second degree and one
count of theft of property third degree.
The sheriff's department said they received the fingerprint
match last week from the Alabama Bureau of Investigation.
Makekau was questioned, and he confessed to the break-ins.
Four of the break-ins were to East Lawrence businesses, and one was to a Moulton
business.
Deputies expect to make additional arrests in the case.
Makekau is currently incarcerated in the Morgan County Jail.
