WREN, AL (WAFF) -
Two people were arrested after
Lawrence County officials made a drug bust in Wren.
Officials said they responded
to a residence on County Road 190 following a citizen complaint of drug
activity.
Misty Simpson denied the claims
and allowed officers to search her home. Agents found quantities of marijuana
and drug paraphernalia. Officers interviewed the occupants of the home, and no
one would claim the items.
Investigators discovered that
one of the occupants, Allen Lee, gave officers a false name to prevent arrest
for an outstanding warrant.
Lee claimed the drugs were
Simpson's and she had bought the drugs the night before. Simpson denied it.
Both individuals were
arrested.
Simpson was charged with distribution
of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana second degree and possession
of drug paraphernalia.
Lee was arrested for the
outstanding warrant and may face additional charges.
