SCOTTSBORO, AL (WAFF) -

Rocket maker Dynetics is trying to assure some nervous neighbors in Jackson County as the company plans to open a small test firing range in the area.

Company leaders will meet with families from the Larkinsville community in Scottsboro.

Dynetics company leaders have invited residents who live close to the proposed site to ask them questions at a public meeting, but for some residents it's going to be a tough sell.

"I hope they back off and stay out of here. I don't want them around here; they're not welcome. I don't want them to be my neighbor," said Sherry Dulberry, Larkinsville resident.

Dulberry said she is concerned about the noise, the ground shaking, her property and her pets.

Members of the Jackson County Commission have also expressed concern. Commissioner Horace Clemmons has already submitted ten questions to the company ranging from the flood plain, the environment, and the economic impact.

"I think this meeting will provide us the opportunity to get all the facts out on the table, have the parties come together and address the issues," said Clemmons.

Dulberry said she's concerned the company is only trying to paint a pretty picture for the residents until the project is a done deal.

The meeting will take place Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Comfort Inn in Scottsboro off John T. Reid Parkway.
