BIRMINGHAM, AL (WAFF) -
An Alabama soldier died in the line of duty.
An IED exploded Sunday in Afghanistan and killed Private First Class Julian L. Colvin of Birmingham.
Another member of Colvin's unit also died in the blast.
They were part of the 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Colvin was just 21 years old.
