5 displaced after Limestone Co. mobile home fire

LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Firefighters battled a mobile home fire in Limestone County for almost two and a half hours Friday.

The family said they saw flames coming from the Piney Chapel home around 1:30 a.m.

Family members said they were staying in a camper on the property at the time because the air conditioner was broken, and the house was too hot.

They said they were woken when someone drove up the driveway honking their horn.

A family member suffered burns after he tried to put the fire out with a hose.

Officials said the home suffered heavy damage. Five people were displaced.

The cause of the fire is not known.
