COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Colbert County has a new portable morgue that will assist emergency crews in the event of a disaster.
The portable morgue allows coroners to store and protect casualties on crime scenes.
The trailer is the first of its kind in Northwest Alabama and will be available to crews in Colbert, Franklin and Lauderdale counties.
Colbert County's coroner said the trailer will play a huge role in protecting the dead while first responders tend to the living.
